Where We Are
The
Hotel Veneto is located in the heart of the city, opposite the Cloister of Sant'Apollonia, a few steps from Piazza San Marco and Piazza Santissima Annunziata with the Ospedale degli Innocenti reacheable in five minutes; a few more steps, about 10 minutes away, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore as well as the fortress Fortezza da Basso.
A a little longer walk but pleasant, about 20 minutes, through the central market of San Lorenzo, the Ponte Vecchio to reach Palazzo Pitti. The Uffizi Gallery can be reached in just a 15 minute walk going through the Accademia Gallery and continuing along Via dei Calzaiuoli.
From Santa Maria Novella railway station the Hotel can be reached in less than 15 minutes on foot.
How to Get Here
BY PLANE:
From the airport Di Peretola/Amerigo Vespucci
From the airport Peretola/Amerigo Vespucci there are two options to reach us: by taxi (about € 20-30) or with the shuttle service (about 5-8 Euro per person), which connects the airport with the Santa Maria Novella train station.
From here the possibilities to reach us are:
- Taxi (about € 8-15)
- the
public service by taking one of the following bus "1-14-17-23-6-11; from the stop Valfonda station, public transport run every 6-8 minutes, the stop for the Hotel Veneto is " San Zanobi ", getting off at this stop just go straight on via San Zanobi towards Piazza San Marco, and you will find the Hotel on your right after only 2 minutes walk (ticket price € 1.20 per person).
For Italians: If you do not find a place that sells tickets you can buy the bus ATAF TICKETS WITH A SMS from your mobile phone, simply send an SMS with the text
"ATAF" to the number 4880105 and wait for a confirmation reply message, the ticket with a validity of 90 minutes has in this case a cost of € 1.50 (price in force since 1st July 2014), with direct debit on the phone bills for TIM, Vodafone, Wind and 3 Italy customers, to which must be added the cost sending the message that varies according to the telephone operator.
In case of verification, you must be present the same phone with the SMS ticket proving the purchasing.
It is not valid if the ticket was forwarded to third parties.

On foot if the luggage is not too heavy; you can opt for a leisurely walk, less than 15 minutes, in the historic centre of Florence, from the Via Nazionale, turn right on Via Guelfa and then, after a few minutes, cross via Santa Reparata on your left, shortly thereafter the Hotel Veneto at number 33.

From the airport of Pisa/Galileo Galilei
From Pisa airport you can reach Florence by train or by shuttle bus Terravision; both will take you to Florence's Santa Maria Novella station.
From here the possibilities to reach us are:

BY CAR
IMPORTANT:
From the A1 motorway
From the A1 motorway take the Florence South exit and follow the signs to the centre. Cross via Villamagna, then once arrived in Piazza Ravenna, proceed to Lungarno Ferrucci and then take the San Niccolò bridge and continue on Via Giovanni Amendola. Stay on the boulevards (viali), go through Piazzale Donatello continue to Piazza della Libertà, follow the ss67 in the direction Giovanni Milton. Turn left in Via dell'Agnolo Poliziano and then in Via Santa Caterina D'Alessandria, which then becomes Via Nazionale. Turn on via Guelfa and just after few metres turn left onto Via Santa Reparata, at number 33 the Hotel Veneto.
Beware the centre of Florence is a ZTL (restricted traffic area) so you can go in if, and only if, you park your car in garages (car parks) of the historical centre, which will register your car number plate in order to avoid a sanction.
The Hotel Veneto has an agreement with nearby garages. If you arrive by car, inform as soon as possible our reception to avoid unpleasant surprises.

From the A11 motorway. Coming from the A11 motorway follow the signs for A1 Firenze, exit Firenze Nord. Take the E76 motorway Firenze mare, you will flank the Amerigo Vespucci Airport. Continue straight on on Via degli Astronauti and then Viale Guidoni. Turn right into Via Enrico Forlanini, on the roundabout take the second exit in Via di Novoli, then turn left into Viale Francesco Redi. Turn right onto Viale Belfiore and then left onto Via Guido Monaco. At the end of Via Guido Monaco take viale Filippo Strozzi, you are on the ss67, skirt around the gardens of the Fortezza da Basso, bear right at the traffic lights to turn toward the centre to Via Santa Caterina D'Alessandria, which then becomes Via Nazionale. Turn on via Guelfa and just after few metres turn left onto Via Santa Reparata, at number 33 the Hotel Veneto.
